Women’s Wisdom Group

Last Spring, in place of the Women’s Seder, a multi-generational group of female congregants participated in a nature and forest bathing event at Gedney Park, led by Cantor Sternlieb, Brenda Haas, and a local naturalist. This memorable day served as a way to connect with one another, to commune with nature and have opportunities to tap into deeper parts of ourselves.

As a result of the outing’s success, we began to look for new paths towards self-realization, awareness and deeper connections to the divine feminine that exists in each of us. As women, we focus on the care of others, especially our children (sometimes our spouses and aging parents as well) and we often neglect the nurturing of the Self.

Our November meeting on gratitude and equanimity was very well attended and our participants eagerly asked for another meet up. We engaged in chanting, breath work, meditation and conversation moving us to new paths towards self-realization, awareness and deeper connections to the divine feminine that exists in each of us. As women, we focus on the care of others, especially our children (sometimes our spouses and aging parents as well) and we often neglect the nurturing of the Self.

On Thursday, May 18 from 12:00-1:30 pm, we will gather again. Please click here to register for this event.

Please join Cantor Elizabeth Sternlieb and Lisa Crandall for learning, introspection and discussion. Through a practice of sharing and sacred listening, we hope to create a space for self-development, interconnectedness and empowerment.

Special thanks to Norma Klein and Karen Perelman.
