Volunteer to assist the Emergency Shelter Partnership

This year while Temple Beth El will not be hosting guests for overnights, our temple will help instead by with “To-Go” meals and winter essentials.

COVID safety protocols have changed the nature of this program and we, unfortunately, will no longer be serving dinner to guests at TBE but we still want to ensure that they have meals. Individually portioned dinners in take-out containers for approximately 30 guests are needed, as well as Welcome Bags & Breakfast Bags for each day. The delivery of bags and meals will be in Mount Kisco (exact location TBD) at the times specified on the sign up.

Feel free to pair up with another Beth El family to make meals so that we can continue our long-standing commitment with the Emergency Shelter Partnership.

What is the Emergency Shelter Partnership (ESP)
The Emergency Shelter Partnership was created 16 years ago to address the needs of local people who are homeless. Many day laborers in our community work seasonally as gardeners, landscapers, and other similar jobs during the warmer months. During the winter season and with COVID cutting jobs significantly, their income has decreased substantially and finding housing has become that much more difficult. The Emergency Shelter Partnership was created to address this crisis and provide emergency housing for these individuals.

Many area churches, synagogues, and mosques participate in a rotating schedule helping a group of homeless people by providing a warm place to sleep, a hot dinner, as well as a breakfast bag.
