For BEMSY (7th and 8th grades):
Beth El Middle School Youth (BEMSY) provides programming for 7th and 8th grade students at Beth El. BEMSY seeks to create an atmosphere for middle school students to socialize, develop friendships, and experience Judaism outside of Religion School. BEMSY also provides leadership opportunities for those members interested in planning events.
BEMSY’s calendar will include four to six local events. Past programs included bowling and a scavenger hunt. BEMSY members can also attend a regional conclave located a nearby camp and designed only for middle school students!
If you have any questions or would like further information on programs, please contact Jesse Paikin or Rabbi Mitelman at (914) 238-3928 x 212 or email gmitelman@bethelnw.org

Beth El Synagogue Teen Youth (BESTY) offers an opportunity for Beth El teens to build friendships, develop lifelong Reform Jewish identities, and leadership skills through community building, worship, social action, and experiential youth-led Jewish educational programming. BESTY is a member of the New York Area Region of NFTY, the North American Federation of Temple Youth, the Reform movement's youth initiative. Members from BESTY attend regional and national NFTY conclaves where they interact with Jewish teens from around the area, and across the nation.
