Tanakh, Talmud, Midrash, Kabbalistic and Chassidic texts. There exists a wonderful book that enables us to understand the many layers of all this literature, the two thousand years of Jewish commentaries and “voices.” Back to the Sources was edited and compiled by Dr. Barry Holtz, Ph.D. in 1984. To this day it is still the book to use on one’s journey into the sea of classic Jewish texts. If you are interested in understanding the great books of our heritage, what they are and how to read them, come and explore.
