Project Architect Profile
Temple Beth El is pleased to have engaged the services of internationally known architect Alex Gorlin for the design of our new addition. Mr. Gorlin’s firm, Alexander Gorlin Architects of Manhattan, has a portfolio spanning all levels of society, from high-end residences to affordable housing to places of worship including several beautiful synagogues.
More importantly, Mr. Gorlin is a student of the work of Louis Kahn, the renowned architect who designed our current building 35 years ago. Mr. Gorlin’s firm has extensive experience designing synagogues. His designs for Temple Beth El will provide the space we need while respecting the synagogue’s original design.
A graduate of the Cooper Union School of Architecture and The Yale School of Architecture - where he taught as a critic from 1980-92 - Mr. Gorlin became a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2005.
