JUNIOR YOUTH COMMITTEE (K-8)

Temple Beth El’s Junior Youth Committee is designed to promote a strong sense of community within Temple Beth El for our kindergartners through 8th Graders.  The Committee’s primary objective is to encourage our children's desire to be involved in their Jewish community at a young age.  We are achieving this goal by offering a wide variety of social and community-based activities for children within this age group.  The activities offered to our children in grades K-8  include basketball teams, movie nights, speakers, yoga programs, music and art programs, cooking programs, and so much more.  Through these activities, the Junior Youth Committee provides Beth El’s children in grades K-8 with the opportunity to gain team-building skills, build friendships, and fully understand and appreciate the value of being part of a Jewish Community.

BESTY (9-12th)

Visit us on Facebook: Beth El Synagogue Teen Youth (BESTY) offers an opportunity for Beth El teens to build friendships, develop lifelong Reform Jewish identities, and leadership skills through community building, worship, social action, and experiential youth-led Jewish programming. BESTY is a member of the New York Area Region of NFTY, the North American Federation of Temple Youth, the Reform movement's youth initiative. Members from BESTY attend regional and national NFTY conclaves where they interact with Jewish teens from around the area, and across the nation. BESTY functions with a balance between youth-led and advisor-initiated activities.
